OUR WORK
Within Bali NGO & Associates we identified key themes for emergency relief.
For every key theme a work group is created which meets on regular basis. Besides work group meetings Bali NGO & Associates regurlarly organizes general meetings, workshops and meetings on specific topics.
WORKGROUP CHILDREN & EDUCATION
The children and education workgroup meets regurarly in topics of alternative care, orphanages, the right to education and child protection issues within disaster situations and beyond.
Within a WhatsApp group the members of the children and education work group keep each other updated on news, policies and issues in the work field.

WORKGROUP COMPLIANCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
This workgroup focuses on the compliance of NGOs and individuals with the government of Indonesia, specifically the regional government of Bali . The group discusses regulations of national and regional governments concerning several issues such as regulations regarding yayasan licenses, immigration, fundraising and government decisions.


WORKGROUP EMPOWERMENT
The empowerment work group focuses on the 'next step' after emergency relief: regaining dignity by being able to provide for oneself and oneselfs family. The group meets on regular basis to discuss new initiatives, brainstorm about new ideas and to talk about funding possibilities.







WORKGROUP FOOD DISTRIBUTION & SECURITY
This workgroup focuses on understanding the fundamentals of Food Security - the measure of the availability of food and the ability for people to access it – and how this has been affected during the Immediate Covid-19 Crisis in Bali and prepare for future or Continual Crises. It will also look at the difference between food aid and food assistance models and open discussions re. sustainability of programs. We will also discuss the Planning and Implementation of Food Aid to effectively meet the needs of Individuals and Communities and deliver the greatest impact to meet the greatest number of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.







WORKGROUP MENTAL HEALTH
The workgroup mental health workgroup focuses on the general health and well-being of local communities in Bali, especially from the impact of Pandemic. The workshop from this group will align with SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being. Aspects of Health to incorporate Nutritional Health and Mental (Emotional) Health. While standard safety protocols are in place in every country with varying levels of restrictions, there are more complacency behaviours observed in the public space.



WORKGROUP RESEARCH
Knowledge is power. With research-based evidence, we can designate a route to fight a crisis or mitigate a disaster. Topics that are discussed in this workgroup are current research outcomes, methodology, permits and research cooperation initiatives.

WORKGROUP SANITATION & WATER
This workgroup focuses on water and sanitation. In Indonesia, 34 million people lack access to safe drinking water and more than 100 million of Indonesia's 265 million people lack access to improved sanitation, with some 54 million practicing open defecation. 27.000 children die each yeat in Indonesia from waterborne diseases.
The objective of this workgroup is to discuss matters of water and sanitation, specifically under the pressure of the current crisis and crises to come, to develop recommendations and to be alert on any major water and sanitation issues and to take action to alleviate these issues.
